Since opening its doors in 1965, Archbishop O'Hara High School has possessed
spirited pride in its mission and values and a great appreciation of its role
and responsibility in our society. The tradition of family, the virtues of
common to civility, and a respect for the ideals of education and knowledge
reflect O'Hara's role as a Catholic secondary educational institution. Named in
honor of Archbishop Edwin V. O.'Hara, the third bishop of the Diocese of Kansas City-Saint Joseph and a staunch supporter of Catholic education, O'Hara was opened with a staff of Lasallian Christian Brothers, sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and a dedicated laity who were committed to excellence in spiritual and academic values.
